Newly introduce to the American scuba diving market in 2015.
The XL 7.2 is a great little rugged variable light output LED dive lamp. The 20-Watt LED puts out 1500 lumens(actual output) of light at 5000 degrees K and a burntime of 70 minutes on full and 140 minutes on 50% power. This lamp is three times as bright, on 100% power, as a traditional 10 Watt HID and unlike most other dive lights the XL 7.2 is variable from 0 to 100% power. The on/off ring has feedback nubs so you can feel when the power level hits 25% 50% and 100%. The lamp also has setting for SOS, beacon, and a strobe signal.
The lamp has a battery capacity indicator at the back of the lamp that tells you how much power is left so you have the piece of mind to know how much light time you have before, during, and after a dive. As an add safety feature the on/off ring locks in the off position with a large safety tab that is easy to use with all forms of diving gloves, this tab also locks the light on so no matter what happens underwater your lamp won't accidentally turn off by hitting the switch.
This lamp is designed for external charging so you never have to open it and risk getting dirt in the O-rings, there is also an off gassing valve to relieve any pressure from the battery cycling. Due to the XL 7.2s robust aluminum construction it is rate for use down to 800 feet(250 meters) of seawater and every lamp is tested in a hyperbaric chamber to that depth when the manufacturing process is complete.
This is a premium dive light at a normal price.
When your dive requires a light, demand the best, demand a Metalsub lamp!
